DPS flat plan draft
This is my DPS flat plan, however through the process of completing my DPS i may change the position of certain parts. I have placed the image in the middle or towards the right hand side more, I have done this as our eyes automatically look in the middle of a page and the model look be looking directly at the camera. I have also placed a pulled quote on the top left as this will be a short but good and also straight to the point, my title will also stand out which is why i am planning to place it in the middle of the dps. The main body text will also be in columns, this will make the text easier to read and also make the page look more organised. However throughout the process of creating my DPS the positioning of the text, image and the other conventions in my flat plan can change depending on how long the text is or how much i want my main image to take up. I also decided to place the title on the image and it will be in bold as this way it stands out and makes it easy to understand and read.

school magazine self and peer assessment
School magazine self assessment
My magazine front cover is not exactly how i wanted it to look like, as i could have added more sell lines that were more affective, i also could have added more magazine features such as buttons, banners e.t.c. however my colour scheme was blue which relates to academic colours, and conforms to my masthead title "want to succeed?"i also used an image of me looking directly as the camera which catches the readers attention.I used a barcode and the date or the issue which are important features of a magazine.
School magazine peer assessment- Jayden
Kimberley has used a wide range of magazine features and also used a mid-shot which allowed me to focus on her and the text on the magazine. The sell lines were also eye catching and stood out as it was in capital bold letters which makes it easy to understand. However she could have used more buttons or banners to make the magazine look more attractive.

school magazine planning sheet
School Magazine – Planning Sheet
Remember, you are required to create a front cover with a medium close up shot plus some appropriately laid out text, a masthead and a contents page.
Use this sheet to help you with your planning.
What is the name of your magazine? What are the connotations of the name?
My magazine will be called ‘want to succeed?” this title is interesting as its a rhetorical question and will attract many readers as they want to succeed.
What will be your front cover story and how will you visualise this?
my front cover will explain the revision tips and give a little bit of information on whats going to be inside. I will make the front cover using banners and buttons to make it visually attractive.
•Who is the target audience? (Consider age, gender, interests)
My target audience will be for A-level students for both genders, some girls and boys have interests but I’m sure both genders will want to succeed which means it may attract both genders.
What sort of shot will it be?Close up, mid shot, low or high angle?
My shot will be a mid-shot so i will be holding books to relate to the title “how to succeed”by using a mid-shot the reader will be able to focus on the books and not the background.
What mise en scene will be required for the photography? Location, Clothing, lighting)
my clothing will be me in my uniform to relate to education, i will also be holding my books to relate to the title and i will be using a plain white or light background, this way the reader will focus on the main image and not the background. The lighting will also be high-key so its easy for the reader to see.
What would be your headline and how will it match the main image?
my headline would also include the world ‘success” this relates to the image and masthead.
What colour scheme do you want and explain why?
i will be using different shades of blue as it relates to academic colours, i will also be using white bold capital letters for subtitles onto of blue buttons and banners so it stands out.
